Abdullahi Nashe Poems

At least I am well and sound should I say?
The gift of the almighty which
nobody can snatch
the way they snatched the right of my children

Life what a wonderful view
The view of yesteryear
Reminding of tender years
With its gratis, boundless
...

We never touch then
Because, we wanted ours to be pure
The respect we had for each other
Was the reason for our chastity?
...

My dear governor
The time you were conceived
Fanatical being they thought
Extreme bluntness they fear
...

When I hear the song we used to listened
My clock seems to turn back
To the good times we had together
That helped in shaping my destiny
...

Looking at your face

Amid its
...

Infatuation or was it true LOVE
True LOVE or was it Infatuation
All the same it was like a dream
...

Another Night
Yet comes another morning
Sleeping seems just for an hour
an hour just like a minute
...

Farewell to a Friend

When we were together
The value was not apparent
...

What a World

What a world
What kind of inhabitants
...

Mothers

To mums who held the candles
For fathers to light up lives
...

"Still Moving"

Join though old but still learning
Life so short but still yearning
...

Best of Hopes

Eyeing the mirror on that wall
Visibly the hour is about to come
...

Talk of poem akin to jargon
In a place where hammer is the subject
Oil and grease work like detergent
Coating brain without attention
...

Nigeria My Nation

I am a poet
That write when tweaked
...

You draw some tears from my lonely eyes
Difficult to wipe with my old handkerchief
Eyes full of joy resolve not to be dry
For they are there to reward one's efforts
...

My father a warrior
Mighty warrior
renowned
Cuts down just less Willows
...

Crying for nothing

The world begins
Only when you are born
...

Hell in this world
Only air to keep afloat
Though free but transmitting pollutants
Without a care from who should care
...

The Best Poem Of Abdullahi Nashe

The Cry Of A Father

At least I am well and sound should I say?
The gift of the almighty which
nobody can snatch
the way they snatched the right of my children
to have good education and health,
water supply without slavering
instead pushing them to beg
in the street without break
God given resources misused
times and times without pain
basic education with no infrastructure
teachers without qualifications
demand in curriculum with no attitude
for implementation
creating dreams in the innocent recipients
transferring illusions to secondary institutions
without concern to the production line
similar to quality of the ‘pure water’
they are forced to ingest
infected in addition to the attitude of the teachers
whose discipline you can't imagine
in a class as large as a market
layers and broilers a mixture of uncertainty
JAMB and NECO to confuse the story
in a tertiary stage that cannot hold the numbers
creating law as if in a jungle
making the believe that only strong should survive
