Adhitiyaa Elango Poems

Lying flat on the boulder was I,
Gazing into the foggy sky.
The sound of the water falling was all I heard
And the water droplets settled on my lashes, making my vision go blurred.
...

I felt completely lost, when I saw you.
My heart beat faster as I stared at you.
I took a second, third and fourth look at you.
My thoughts were filled with you, you and only you.
...

When I was a small kid, they told me
That God answers our prayers.
However trying the situation might be,
He would be a life saver.
...

Tears well up in my eyes,
As I kneel frozen as ice,
In front of your grave, bidding adieu;
Having visions of the good times with you.

The sky stood proud and majestic,
Clad in a bluish black mystique.
Dazzling stars were the only ornaments which she wore.
The sky noticed that I was staring;
...

That night you left me
And went far, far away…
Hoped you'd come, to work this through
And that we could find some way …
...

You weren't like the soil on the ground;
Giving me access, to hold on to you for support.
But, you were like the fertilizers on the ground;
Helping me develop strong roots of education.

A Dream

Lying flat on the boulder was I,
Gazing into the foggy sky.
The sound of the water falling was all I heard
And the water droplets settled on my lashes, making my vision go blurred.
Not bothering to wipe it off from my eyes,
I lay still and frozen as ice.
A strong scent of a female filled the air;
I could feel my passion flare.
The fog began to clear,
I wiped my eyes to make my sight crystal clear.
An angel she was, clad completely in white,
As pure as snow and so was it bright.
She stood with her feet in the stream;
I wondered why I never came across such beauty even in my dream.
Her eyes were distinct as pearls,
Her hair at the end was all in curls;
A bed of roses were her lips,
So graceful was the orbit of her hips.
The smile on her face;
Set my heart ablaze
Making it increase its pace;
Her looks made me daze.
I proceeded forward not knowing where my feet trod,
I had already crossed the stream were it was broad.
In front of her I knelt;
It was very strange, the way I felt.
"Will you be my wife? " I said
And watched her slowly nod her head.
She offered her hand, palm facing up;
Wrapping my fingers over it, I stood up.
"I love you", she confessed;
My lips on hers, I pressed.
Chocolate, maple syrup, sugar,
A taste so different that I couldn't figure.
I wished we were like this forever,
But every meeting has an end, whatsoever.
My darling, my lover, my beautiful wife,
This is how I brought her into my life.
