adia parker Poems

We were loners floating through the city
Searching for the hand that feeds
We were the fresh kids
With the spikes and sneakers
...

Still
As I watch your tembling lips
And I've got butterflies fluttering through my veins
You've stopped talking
...

Do you live the music or do you play the part?

Is the vibe colorful and soulful to you or is it plain in black and white?
...

What happens when you build someone up
Just to knock them over
Like that,
The way you did (when you left me just laying there)
...

I'm innocent and guilty
At the same time if that makes sense
I'm young and I'm stupid
I'm poor and enraged
...

I believe everyone has a voice
Everyone can sing
I can hear it now
All of our hearts crying out
...

Such sweet thoughts of yesterday
The tumble weeds that blow through my subconscious brain
It seems as easy as turning around and walking back
Through the sunset
...

Little girl
With the sullen ways
And all the tears
Streaming down her face
...

It seems so great on the outside
But welcome to the real world people
It's all just some god awful charade
Yes loose lips sink ships
...

adia parker Biography

I started writing poetry and lyrics when I was twelve and a half and never looked back. I was born in L.A. and have grown up all over southern CA, anywhere from Palm Springs to Ontario. Let's just say I'm a bit of a nomad. I love music, whether I'm listening to it, playing it, or writing it. I think that writing has helped me grow as a person and it is my main way of expressing myself.ONE LOVE! ! ! ONE HEART! ! ! ONE SONG! ! ! PLEASE LEAVE YOUR COMMENTS! ! ! Bad Influence

We were loners floating through the city
Searching for the hand that feeds
We were the fresh kids
With the spikes and sneakers
Blasting through the speakers

I'll stop thinking about you
If you agree to lock me out
You mattered the most
Now nothing matters less

You were more than a bad influence
To me
You were more than my enabler
You were more than rebellion and freedom
You were more than rage
You were more than darkness
You were more than an animal
You were more than a bad influence to me

Who cares if you hate me
You had the best of me
I loved the worst of you
We were the beasts
Roaming through the wilderness
We were the weight in the light of the world
We were the nerds that won mathletes

I'll stop thinking about you
If you agree to lock me out
You mattered the most
Now nothing matters less

You were more than a bad influence
To me
You were more than my enabler
You were more than rebellion and freedom
You were more than rage
You were more than darkness
You were more than an animal
You were more than a bad influence to me

I wear your memory like a scar
I wear your memory like a tatoo
I wear your memory
It stands in front of me
I wear it like a battle wound
My heart has been removed
And attached to my sleeve
I wear your memory
