Aidan Cost Poems
I feel trapped in my own company, That's a rather dark place to start, As though the loneliness is a tragedy, Slowly decaying the stitches in my broken heart,
Tell me your story young chestnut brown, I've never seen your face, you must be new in town, What do these darkened ridges on your hands mean? Normally i cant keep a conversation but you seem so keen.
The Violet Skies
As The violet skies fall, As I stand tall, i sit on my own in a floodlit room, contemplating my inevitable doom,
21st Century 'Love'
The world is falling apart, (not that it was ever together) People without heart, Saying they 'love you 5eva'
Best Mistake I Ever Made
'Every Word you've ever said, Flows endlessly through my head, Like a hopelessly spreading, Haunted lake, But my spirits weren't the only thing to break.'
My love, I wanna fix my mental condition, My head is as rough-cut as the words in this rendition, I know I love you and want to fill your head with endorfins, 'Thats the love chemical' i tell you while sounding alot like stephen hawkins,
Love Like Water
Love begins like a body of flowing water, When it first begins to develop, It flows quickly and the shallow body becomes a stream, As time passes the water begins to slow on the surface and the body begins to grow deep, all the while a strong undercurrent remains, this is the river,
As the battering ram in my heart crashes. My kingdom of faith turns to ashes The dust gathers into fog. Nothing remains but a crown and a cog.
I Promise You. (Dark)
Don't go to the gallows in your garden, I say. Don't tie that noose, live another day. Only time to tie, Is for the suit at the ball. Don't remove those shoelaces, Don't hang yourself at all.
The Phonecall Generation
People are waiting in silence, For the infernal ringing, When all that has been forgotten, Is that they could listen to the birds singing.
A House Of Matches
Your venomous words burnt, only to fall like a house of matches, from the mistakes we both learnt, that flimsy paper promises oh fire catches,
Paper And Glue
So I made you a sculpture out of paper and glue. It might not be much but its the best I can do, I made you a portrait out of charcoal and ash. I would paint you a canvas but I don't have the cash.
Walk On By
Walk on by my strangest friend, Walk on by me, Walk on by my only mend, walk on be free.
The Asperity of Austerity has really done a number, On the Disillusioned poor who's lives it does encumber, The conservatives in power; Puppets of the rich, All-the-while the impoverished thinking 'This is going to hurt like a bitch'.
Paper And Glue
So I made you a sculpture out of paper and glue.
It might not be much but its the best I can do,
I made you a portrait out of charcoal and ash.
I would paint you a canvas but I don't have the cash.
So here is the art that I bring into your heart,
Here is a poem. A string of words, A beginning a start.
