The Man He Use To Know
The waters are high.
The currents are strong.
The life boat is too late.
There's nothing anyone can do.
The scars are made.
The damage is done.
That vibrant little boy is no more.
He seeks his father hoping to find comfort.
But all he finds is the dust settling into the night.
The boy hears the sound of his beating heart as the darkness approaches.
He finally sees his fathers face, but the light is no more.
So the boy stumbles down the road hoping to find the finest flare of hope.
Trying to find the man he knew a long time ago.
The man he called 'Dad'.
