Aiswarya Menon Poems

I am shadowed
By the illusions of a past that huddles,
Silent, but knowing that I am afraid of them.
The past scatted and lingered
...

Don't know whether you will like it
But let me tell you who you were to me
A face to look at, when my heart aches
A face to look for, when i'm in trouble
...

Tick Tock Tick Tock, went that clock,
I stared at its round stale striped face
It seemed to be smiling at me, more like
A giggle at the plight I was in....

I Am Shadowed

I am shadowed
By the illusions of a past that huddles,
Silent, but knowing that I am afraid of them.
The past scatted and lingered
Created ruckus and rhythm
Which I had so long forgotten
May be something I do not want to hear.

The time is up, the deadlines are drawn
The final queries are about to come
Which is right? what is wrong?
A lumpsum of prevailing questions,
Demanding from me, the answers..

I am enforcing the sentences onto the paper
Making lines and lines
On the white parchment
My head splits, memory twists,
I am searching for the lost answers..
I am the learner
But I question the depth of this wisdom
I search not for the answers of an exam
But for the answers of my own life-an enigma!

I stand on the cross roads
Wanting to be free and fly higher
To break all the clutches restraining me.
Freedom, a discovery of the past
By the present for the future.
It is what I long for, a dynamic search
Adding colours to the lessons of survival...

I want to remove all my disguises
And step outside,
To face, directions galore.
Let me decide my path to victory
Because I know, sky is not the limit.....
