Alex Mercado Poems

For the past 5 years I've sugar coated my life,
Witnessing 4 deaths, a broken soul, and a bloody strife.
I've been to Hell and back with an I.O.U from the devil
You want another life, but I want a more challenging level.
...

I've been bruising everyday since I was born.
The world made me this way.
Now I'm waiting for that perfect storm.
The day that I should've played Russian Roulette.
...

Everyday I wake up to a storm of torment.
An air raid siren cry that pierces and augments.
My, suicidal tendencies as if they weren't enough.
I'm just that 'nobody' with a soul that's morphine cuffed.

Hung On The Crucifix

For the past 5 years I've sugar coated my life,
Witnessing 4 deaths, a broken soul, and a bloody strife.
I've been to Hell and back with an I.O.U from the devil
You want another life, but I want a more challenging level.
Diary of a sad man is all I have to my name,
So when I die, I'm just another carcass in the flame.
From heaven and back my soul has fell,
Trapped, conceded in an internal cell.
Always nervous, can't sit still
My mind is distorted, bent against my will.
Measuring the thick despair step by step,
This life is a vicious cycle, time for another rep.
Society screwed to no avail by the masses,
We cant see the truth behind these pitch black glasses.
Brain washing stories keep your mind numb,
Another war-torn victim, hearing the beating of the drum.
Our fate illuminates like a shining star,
But it left a terrifying, wrist slitting scar.
Escape our problems by a simple mind potion,
Show these ignorant people early and watch them catch the notion.
Black widows emerge from beautiful untainted souls,
But now they cry, they're hearts are as black as coal.
Dont fear because the reaper is on his way,
To make our lives visions of Pompeii.
I just won the lottery, lucky numbers six six six,
So remember me when I get hung on the crucifix.

I've read your 3 poems. You have a gift of articulation. I see a big problem, however, as the theme of your work lacks balance, probably reflecting the library of thoughts and deeds that have surrounded you. Please broaden your mental horizons away from the darkness that the number 666 entails. Start reading books by authors that were not all plagued by mental illness. Seek the goodness that lies dormant within yourself by seeking it in your surroundings. If you can't find goodness in your surroundings, then expand your surroundings until you can find it. When you do find it, embrace it. For goodness is precious. Goodness is ultimately the handiwork of Our Creator, whether it be here on earth or in the heaven above. Get yourself out of your isolated state of mental depravity and seek the goodness that really does exist. Good luck and God Bless your efforts. A fellow Worcesterite.
