See my vapour trail on the freeway

If I were to step any further
Into your tomb, your fervour
On the cusp of eternal abyss
For one midnight kiss

I was lost and left on the plain
The eagles singing my name
And underneath the marble sky
Another soul waiting to die
...

I see the skulls on the desert plain
I hear the vultures sing my name
Deaf to the screams and blind to the scenes
I'm lost without a hope or means

There's an addictive self pity
That creeps in
When the night
Cuts cold
...

Don't look back to the avenues of stone
Don't look forward to a life alone
Now I know I know the rough tide's gotten you down
So I'll be a shoulder, I'll be the one
