Biography of Alice Vedral Rivera

Alice Vedral Rivera poet

As a child, I read anything I could get my hands on. I loved words and still do. I speak, read and write Czech fluently. Spanish was my major in college and I had 2 years of German (my German is practically non-existent even though, oddly enough, I was born in Germany - a 'refugee baby') . I started writing poems at the tender age of ten. Writing proved to be cathartic. The few family members and friends (with whom I dared share my writings) inspired and encouraged me to continue compiling my work. Continually pressed to share my writing with others, I finally gathered enough courage to share with the world. Most of my poems are very personal to me - excerpts of my life so to speak. I strive to be fully engaged in living life and loving passionately.

to hear it is to see it with our ears.'

Overwhelming Intensity

Overwhelming intensity floods my senses

Takes me to the edges of oblivion
Where do I end and you begin?

Overwhelming intensity fuses our senses
Makes us crazy with passion - with pleasure sublime
