A Bomb

NOW it's all destroyed.

I can never understand the hit,
or fathom what malice was behind it.
To deliberately end so many lives,
to make widows out of so many wives,
orphans out of laughing children,
and create loneliness for too many men.

NOW it's all destroyed.

Bodies litter where grass should grow.
Death lingers where lights should glow.
Communities have withered and died.
Countries have understood and cried.

NOW it's all destroyed.

Why did they do it?
To land on us such a dreadful hit
It's a deadly blow to the heart,
and the thing with the bomb is, it's not an art.
A bomb is not sexist or racist,
they say the only way to stop it is to enlist.
But to retaliate is to regenerate.
The only result of an eye for an eye
is that everyone will die.

NOW it's all destroyed.

The culmination of human history,
the journey to the table from the tree.
And what do we do when we get there?
But try to kill those who are elsewhere.
What is more, is no-one can close this door,
because we fear others will then make the war.
