Crikey, and I thought I had recorded my admiration for Alison's work on her 'Front Page' - I note now that I must have been too busy sending her congratulatory messages to 'get around to it'. I admire Allie's poetry; it is written effortlessly, with patent honesty and palpable sincerity. She makes you feel good. There is always cause to say something nice about it. Damn, she's a great poet & a great Aussie. On ya Gal! Rgds, Ivan |

I add further to my previous comment on Allie. It takes the most special person in the world to write such a comment on another (her beloved partner, Jerry, currently going through hell.... but perhaps not as much hell as Allie is) :
'Jerry Hughes is the bravest man I've met. I know, because I've been sitting by his bedside for what seems like forever watching him. I've witnessed his terror on the morning of surgery, his slowly dawning realization that half of him was missing, his agonizing, perplexing and always frustrating journey through the glitches of post ICU and his abiding determination that he's going to 'come back' from it all. I am privileged to be able to keep his bed warm while he's in rehab and I look forward for however long it takes to having him home with his family at Craig Avenue. ' And then expressing simple, pure love.
Allie, my admiration and love for you as person and poet know no bounds. t x |

A verbal portrait artist of the highest order. She writes of those close to her with affection, compassion and a keen sense of observation. Her devotion to animals, particularly her beloved peacocks, are must reading for all who celebrate our fellow earthly inhabitants. |

An excellent poet, who is able go deep into the core of experiences and present them beautifully, whose critical insight matches the creative acumen and who shows through her poems and comments that she sincerely believes in ‘vasudhaiva kutumbakam’. |

Allie is everything one might wish for but rarely finds in a poet. Abundant wisdom, vivacity, the capacity to diversify, imagination... a unique talent to engage the reader, drawing him or her right in. And one hell of a fine woman to boot. Without prejudice to her uniquely finely penned pieces, I adore this woman.
One reservation: she does not write enough... :) t x |

Not only are you welcome on this site, your empathy with the subject matter will enhance this illusionary, sometimes unbright star to brighten up a bit. Heavens to Murgatroid it needed to, desperately... |
