Unity

You took my hand and the life became fearless.
I felt it - I could fight destiny and go -
go against the restless demons,
the chosen paths and troubling struggles.
I felt our hands...
They bonded in the instant they met,
whereas we found ourselves just standing.

One place. One time. One life.
That's the mantra of the living but we,
we were never even there,
so how would we know?
One reality feels too short of a time for us.

You can feel it too, i know -
I wasn't to be fooled by your steel gaze
or locked jaw.
I wasn't making a mistake.
Because in that moment -
that one second -
we were one.
And one was us.

Unity never felt more freeing than you.
And unity never had a name before you.

My life was travelling around a moment,
and I couldn't catch up. It was as if you,
the one whose gentle hold kept me breathing,
were my earth and I was your moon.
the stars would have nothing against us because
we are stronger.

We are undefined and we are new,
but nonetheless chasing after that one spark of rush we got,
not knowing whether we'd ever find it again after that time,
that spot,
that moment.
It couldn't matter less.

It's not I anymore.
It's not even you.
It can't be, it shouldn't be.
In that place - us became we.
Never to be divided,
Never to be taken away.
We are the ones who are staying from now
because we are also those who found our purpose.

Because in that moment -
that one second -
we were one.
