Like a sly wolf dragging a shy cat
to his den, he laid her on his hairy bosom
and chewed her in kisses;
as many as the stars,
or the grains of sand
in an endless sahara
wrinkled in a four hundred year drought;
as she moaned like the night wind
in pain,
