Alyssa Baker Poems

Though the sea, on top, looks lonely,
The truth lies beneath its glowing water.
Filled with life, it is no longer shy,
As each current flows, it grows more excited,
...

From beginning to end it was a short tale
It follows like this, a once unspoken story

Dusk would come and we’d walk together
...

A realization
A sudden epiphany
Full of nostalgia
For that beautiful day
...

Laying on the sand
The sun beat down
The sand sticking to my skin
My eyes closed...
...

Frost floats on the ground's surface.
The mist, still, mesmerized in the cold air.
The air stingily against my bear skin.
The dead wind piercing as it flows past me.
...

I had to listen to it.
I ran to see what was happening,

but I was too late.
...

Covered in darkness I sit alone
Time continues to pass
While I sit in the dark
Alone
...

A glorious light fills the room
Though shines only through the cracks
I wait and anticipate what happens next
Unsure of what to do
...

The heavens weep
And the birds do not sing
The clouds drape low
And no light can get in
...

Ocean winds sweep like a blazing fire in the forest
Thunder roars, sounding like a beating heart
If only this was eternal
This feeling I can not explain.
...

Way Of Judgement

Though the sea, on top, looks lonely,
The truth lies beneath its glowing water.
Filled with life, it is no longer shy,
As each current flows, it grows more excited,
And waves are brought to crash against the surface.
More joyful people are held in its water,
It grasps the emotions and joins in with waves.
As night falls, it settles, and reflects the moon.
Throughout the night it begins to look lonely again,
Only, underneath, it holds the truth to its happiness.
