The Meeting Place

I've waited for you,
Time and time again.

This is just another time,
But why is it so different?

Maybe we're changing
A little more each night.

Discovering our differences,
And trying not to fight.

I wonder when this became the norm,
This awkward feeling and the silence.

In the snow, and in the rain,
I've been waiting.

You are finally here,
Apologising, and asking to post pone this date.

I smile and agree,
But you stand there, looking relieved.

I wave, and turn to walk away.
