Amanda Edwards Poems

I’ve loved you for many years
These tears
...

I’ am utterly alone
No one treads this course
I show no displeasure
...

Love is Love
It comes and goes
It melts away
Just like the snows
...

As he lay dieing
He requested to see
The snow fall falling
Though he could not speak
...

If you have read my other poem you know that my relationship with my father is more than a little rocky. My mother and I haven't seen him in five years. Well not intentionally, what I mean by that is that we do have the unfortunate occasion of running into him. The last was quite a show. It's embarrassing and unfortunate, but hey what doesn't kill you makes you stronger. I love my mom. She gives me strength, and inspires me. This poem was written with her in mind, because I’ am not the only that had to suffer.

We’ll be strong,
And we’ll rejoice,
...

Oh come now
It’s the time to stop swirling
Need to start living
A beautiful full life
...

Thank you father for never being there,
Thank you for all your cruel stares,
...

A fool
That’s what I feel I’ve been
I put my trust in a guy
Thought he was my friend
...

Sarcastically funny
Cynically sweet
Blonde with brains
Brutally honest

Amanda Edwards Biography

I was born in Ohio. I became interested in poetry after the first loss of my grandmother on March 19,2003 it was devastating, and then the loss of my grandfather March 13,2005. I guess you could say March is a bad month for me. Anyways I was on a downward spirl to nowhere. I was having trouble in school, and eventually I just up and quit. But one day in the year of 2006 I decided that it was pointless to throw my life away on something I couldn't change. Now I'm back in school, and planning on going to college to become a writer or journalist. It's funny the cards that life deals you isan't it? There are many things that I have learned from. Many instances that I have learned from. I've learned that giving up isan't worth it. I believe that you should want to better yourself no matter what other's may think or want of you. Knowledge 'is' the key to happiness. I love reading. Reading is one of my most treasured hobbies that I'm becoming more and more increaseingly fond of. I also like to get involved with charities, because I love helping people that need to be helped, and also of course animals. I belong to the HSUS and PETA. I'm also a vegetarian. I have five cats and five birds. Sylvester is my baby kitty though. He's a chunky, cuddly little thing, and I just love him. Favorite Poets: John Wilmot and Tiffany Saxon. Favorite Authors: Philippa Gregory, Michel Faber, Laurell K. Hamilton, Charles Dickens, Arthur Conan Doyle, Jane Austen, Charlotte Bronte, Dave Pelzer, Koren Zailckas, Amy Tan, Elizabeth Kostova, Etienne Van Heerden. I'm not a big lover of reality tv shows. Favorite Movies: The Libertine, Pride & Prejudice, The New World, Enough, King Arthur, Shindler's List, A Bronx Tale, Twister, Code Name: Dancer, Le Divorce, Congo, Queen of The Damned, The Queen, Bobby, Amistad, Sugar Time, Skeleton Key, Hitchickers Guide to the Galaxy, Jane Eyre, Phantom of The Opera, To Die In Jerusalem, The Devil Wears Prada, Chicago. Favorite Music: Kelsey Wild, Mz Ann Thropik, Regina Spektor, Katy Rose, Amos Lee, Norah Jones, Lily Allen, Godsmack, The Offspring, The Carpenters, The Mamas and The Papas, Eccentricity, Jeffree Star, Starlit, Blue King Brown, The Veronicas, The Donnas, M.I.A, Mandy Moore, Tina Turner, Christina Aguilera, Lacuna Coil, Anti-Flag, and the Cherry Poppin' Daddies. Now, I have a few questions for everyone that's read my poetry, and obviously read my biography is do you think I have talent? Do you think I could go on to become a famous poet or writer? Do I inspire you? Am I helpful? If you could let me know I'd really appreciate it. I want to help people through my writing, and I want to know if I've been of any use. Helping though is not the only reason I have for wanting to become a writer though. I was to inform people. I have learned so many things already that I want to share with others. Share knowledge. www.myspace.com/mandiee_virgo_intelligent (For those who'd like to see me. A Hearts Lost Love

I’ve loved you for many years
These tears
Streaming down my face
Every thought of you
Makes my heart race
I wish I’d had the strength
To look you in the face
And not lie to you
I wish I’d told you
That there is a place
And now a empty space
For you in my heart
My heart
The one I would not let you have
I was once mad
But now I’ am sad
I had so much fear
To let you hear
The truth
Which I’ve buried
It’s so scary
The truth
I’ am no longer
Strong
You have moved on
And I was wrong
I don’t want to sound sappy
But I want nothing
Except you happy
