Amy Michelle Mosier Poems

I have nothing to offer
Except this small heart of mine.
You come with laughter.
I have a past much maligned.

Marriage is strength -
Much more than just love;
Strength that's impactive
Because it
...

Old age doesn't exist for all
Because many claim its presence;
I submit that living goes on
Through many-hued firmaments.
...

Bless each palo verde bloom -
Those cuplets kissed by the sun
My vision wants to consume
That thus have raptured my love.
...

Like a sparkling Roman candle
Parry's penstemon dots the canyon.
Oh what deep purple bells! -
That decorate the trail along
...

Time, as I felt it, stopped
As the Sun gave up its power and waned
But for an interval. I was lost -
Called away from the mundane.
...

Rather than talking to walls
I'd prefer a saguaro
For the wisdom they know.
Centuries - they come and go -
...

What a curtain Bisbee has
That keeps Mexico subdued
And influences the lands
From which the Sierra was hewn.
...

Among hills Apache red
Where damas and vaqueros
Built up a homestead
Past the mercados
...

I'm envious of the clouds
That float happily in the sun -
Changing into colorful shrouds -
Lumping from many into one.
...

Hiding in an empty room
To have a minute with myself -
I sat on a plush chair
And sank about as low as I felt.
...

A dream is a butterfly
Fresh from the cocoon
That is realized and soon
Flutters up into the sky
...

Memories are many, my heart is full
Of gladness for the love I've found in you
Love that always carries a sweet milieu.
You are quite a man, both strong and gentle.
...

Happy eyes need not the sun
For they, like yours, have a light of their own
A cutting light the demons shun
That confesses to a kind, ageless soul.
...

A swirl of amaretto
Revolves in my coffee
Like a galaxy -
Shimmering and slow.
...

Behold the marvelous wildflowers!
How they boldly carpet a sloping glen -
Our gift from Earth's seasonal showers.
...

Pink is the morning sun ablaze.
Gray is the balmy air.
Purple is the city's haze.
Brown is the wren's bleary stare.
...

The treetop glimmers outside my window
As light, dancing upon the leaves -
Shimmers off each leaf in soft yellow.
From afar, my attention is retrieved
...

Where have all the gentlemen gone?
Worldly thoughts have led them astray -
Desiring neither love nor brawn.
Where? Have all the gentlemen gone?

Amy Michelle Mosier Biography

Poetry is in my blood. I'm related to Francis Scott Key and F.S. Fitzgerald on my dad's side. For me, it's a discipline. I'm always striving to read poetry, learn from it, build my vocabulary and practice the craft. Being opinionated helps. What you see here represents 1/6th of my total work. I'm happily married to a wonderful Hispanic man. When time permits, I scrounge YouTube for beautiful music and go hiking.)

The Best Poem Of Amy Michelle Mosier

I Have Nothing To Offer

I have nothing to offer
Except this small heart of mine.
You come with laughter.
I have a past much maligned.

You come with true stories
And many talkative siblings.
I have few good memories
But a face that's serene.

Interesting things about the world
I remember very well.
If it's not a bother
I will teach instead of tell.
