Ankur Surin Poems

I piled up my memories,
Both old and new;
Bitter and sweet
To make an Everest.
...

Yesterday, today and the tomorrow,
I need to borrow,
mourn a dying sun
soaked in the dew of sorrow.

She hears you sigh
through her eyes,
peeping at you
over a book

It hasn't rained here, yet.
I long to hear those
early lone drops patter on the
earth dusting off
...

I belong to me,
Not to you or to anyone else in the world;
Not to the beguiling hope,
Not to the everlasting despair;
...

I tried.
Believe me I did,
Only I failed miserably.
Nevertheless I tried

Lid the light,
curl up on the sheet
and breathe the night.
Grab a pillow,

I posed a question to you;
my overtures implied.
Hope patched with anxiety,
conviction thread-bare

Blood stain on your hands!
How dirty can you get with

Lost And Found.

I piled up my memories,
Both old and new;
Bitter and sweet
To make an Everest.
Standing on its peak
I enjoyed the panoramic view
Of my beautiful world,
A creation of my dreams.
And then I indulged
Myself in its appraisal
With aplomb and an air of satisfaction.

Suddenly as I looked down,
I found a big black void
To my astonishment.
A void big enough
To suck my world
To the darkest trench of doom.

Appalled, scared to my core
I looked for help
From shore to shore
But in vain.
At last I fell back
To the long forsaken chest
Cluttered with pieces of the broken
Glass through which once I had
Seen beautiful dreams.
I scoured through it
Like a hungry beast.
A piece of glinting glass
That had your reflection caged,
Caught my eye.

A shiver ran through my body;
My heart pumped with invigorated ease
And my blood went waltzing
In my veins, gorging down
New channels through the Everest.
A new dawn flooded the
Deep, dark void
And I knew just what I had to do.
I bungee-jumped, from the summit
I'd been standing on,
Suspended by hope and faith
Into the void of unfulfilled dreams
To bring you back from those
Lost tracks:
To complete my world;
To share my dreams.
