Anger Stops Love

Playground flaunting
Stopped by family outing
Going on a trip or two
Don't worry about me
I'm fine, see you

The scoundrel, the loner, the grubby little roamer.
But I was the watcher, the contemplating dreamer

Life so big
For someone so small
Had to be stone
To stand so tall

I'm fine, I'm fine
Just leave me alone
Let me fix this hole on my own

'You don't need her'
But other people did
'I can do what I want'
Words went unsaid

I needed you mum
When no one was there
To talk about boys
To fix my hair

I needed you mum
To take me to the park
To show them I was loved
And that I wasn't alone in the dark

I still need you mum
To unload the stress
To meet for lunch
And to find the dress

With their mums by their side
Block everyone out
They can never understand
They feel safety no doubt

I'm fine, I'm fine
Just leave me alone
Let me fix my heart on my own

A hidden sadness
Full of tears
Jealousy and anger stops love
But never the fears

Friends held the key
To open the stone
But fiercely protected
I spent my life alone

Watching numbly
Life went by
Now joining in humbly
I was living a lie

My life is full of happiness
Thanks to people like you
Friends can be family
If you let love get through

People can heal
By always being there
By never giving up
Friends are rare

Don't leave me alone, Don't leave me alone
Although you are not her, I need you
I am no longer small, I am no longer stone
You helped me stand so tall, and all on my own.
