How shocked would you be
If you learned what scared me
Would you be surprised by my fear
Would you laugh so hard you shed a tear

There once was a time I wrote nonstop
A day my words and rhymes seemed to pop
When I could write without a break
Even when my world would tremble and shake

Fire and ash, blood and bone
In a fight true colors shone
Break the darkness and the night
Show them the light can fight
...

Life has gotten really great
Top notch, fine, first rate
But then a door opens wide
I just gotta peek inside
...

An infection has taken my mind
And no cure can I find
It grips me tight and won't let go
First hit slow but then the signs did show
...
