To live in this immoral time,
uncouth and plagued by wretched crime,

Despised by all with vicious scorn,

Sacred rites of time unknown,
echoes of the past in stone,

Remnants of most sacred tribes,
...

fleeting moments, gone they seem,
secret thoughts, our minds redeem,

timeless points of endless joy,
...

in her eyes, see the skies;
see the world with no disguise;

in her heart, see the start;
...

When all the world is cold and dark,
and life has left its cruel mark,

When you've lost all faith and hope,

I wish you were with me tonight,
My room lit up by candlelight,
I’d look at you from toe to head,
Your hair a a-glow, a fiery red,

Angels high above the earth,
gave to you this gift at birth,
a gift to sing like those above,
a voice that brings both joy and love,
