The Parting

Stories of a passionate romance echo,
Like a velvet fragrance in the wind,
Beyond care or worry, only hope survives,
Of moments spent in gentle tenderness,
And of a romance that lives in legends.
Like a warm fire that never dies,
My love for her engulfed my being,
And we lost ourselves in the throes,
Of true passion and eternal affection,
A heart that knew no limits then,
Soaring like a free bird into the yonder,
We flew together, one soul and heart,
Away to a hidden and unseen world,
A place where we lived in each other.
Cruelly, fate took her away from my grasp,
Sinking my soul into unknown despair and pain
The memories stay and the moments linger,
Giving hope and courage to move ahead,
Beyond this forgotten dream, of the parting.
