ANOTHER CHANCE

Snow blanketing the grass
Fresh sheets to write on
...

changing
the baby’s diaper
mint sprig in her hair
...

a second
and then another
not enough to dwell on
but hope is born
...

The mountains loomed high, the valleys of rivers reflected sparkling crystals all of sugar.
There were beets and there were canes and as far as the eye could see just sugar, sweet sugar.

Nothing black, nothing sour, not even a hint of bitterness
...

matter is energy
constantly exchanging places
time traveled in speeding space
...

The bear is always bare. I have never seen a bear who was not bare. Or does he or she wear a coat of hair? Where does he or she go to buy a coat of hair so that he or she won't be a bare bear? Coats cost money. Bare bears have no money.
