Shoes

Grounded to the earth
My home, my love
Shoes I wear with comfort
Or Pain
Connected to earth
Connected to home.

My shoes have
Carried my load, sometimes too heavy
Sometimes happy
Sometimes sad, sometimes too fast
Sometimes I pause
Wasted my life
But through to the end, wherever I go.
Connected to earth
Connected to home.

The travels I traveled
The things I see
The joys, the lives, people I've seen
My family, my shoes,
My connection to earth
My connection to home
My journey continues
Each day, it begins.
