One Sunday afternoon
After our weekly visit to see my husband, my
children’s dad
We were in the car when my youngest child,
Alex said, “Mommy if I could make a wish
and ask God for something, I would pray that
Papi could be okay and be home with us.”
My daughter Anna quickly responded, “I
know that’s what I always say.”
My oldest son, Alberto agreed to the same
Their wish was not a toy, clothes or a trip to
Disney World
What they wished for was for their father to
get well
Alzheimer’s is a progressive disease
A cure has not yet been found
Perhaps in the future the cure will be
established
But for now all we can do, is keep him clean,
loved, safe and sound
