I imagine white picket fences,
flower gardens full of wild faces
walking barefoot on the green green grass,
to touch your lips with mine
We could make love in the backyard in the summertime,
if the neighbors gawk I say let them look.
I drown in the pool of your blue green eyes.
But its just another daydream,
I shake away
like so much glitter and stardust,
Reality is a much crueler misstress,
all concrete buildings and stained sidewalks,
Under all this neon light
that batters my face into oranges and blues
I relize its just that I miss you.
