Only pale artificial light
Keeps me from the descending night,
For it is only my laptop’s soft glow
That keeps me from the nights of long ago,
When hungry wolves would howl with longing at the moon,
And pixies and faerys would dance around the shroom;
Slipping into sleep, I will surely join them soon,
But for now I am alone in my cold, modern room.
We who walk in moonlight
First see the blue-grey dawn.
In the day the Sun burns bright,
But in the night we dance
With faery and fawn,
Neither alive, nor dead,
In a heavenly trance.
