I met a beggar once,
He asked me for five dollars...
I said you're crazy man...
Then he said, please, kind sir,
Just give me two coins
Any two coins...
I said what about a nickle
and a dime
He said that fifteen cents
Would work just fine
I said OK but tell me why
That two coins would satisfy?
He told me that if he had
Two coins to rub together
In his pocket, he would have
The confidence to fill it up
With more.
Now how could I refuse?
I gave him those two coins
And later found that
He had made them grow to
Two hundred and thirty-two
Dollars and fifteen cents...
So now, dear reader
I'm a beggar too
Please give me only two...
Two words to rub together
Here... In my pocket...
I'll make a poem for you...
If I just can get a couple words
A couple of words, so true, to
Make them grow into
A lovely poem
For me and you...
