As the small boy watches the man he
Makes his way across the dry empty
Dessert. Hit throat is dry and begs for
Water as he struggles across the
Endless expanse breathing in painful
Dry sandy breaths.
The man’s hunger overwhelms him and he
Is becoming more and more insane as he
Begins to cry, but the tears are dry
For there is no emotion left.
So as the man breaks down on his knee’s
And screams pleading for mercy and writhing
In the dry sand. But it is not sand, it is the powdery
Remains of the crushed dead bones
That lie wasted on the ground.
And as the boy watches this man writhing in
The wasted bones crying dry emotionless tears
And pleading for mercy, he smiles. For the boy has
No remorse left for the man. He stands up and
Walks in the other direction, all the while
Smiling and saying out loud..
I told you so.
