So Much For Old Age

My eyes are tired. They've seen too much.
My hands are wrinkled, not smooth to touch.
My ears are not hearing as well.
My nose is not as sensitive to smell.

But thank God for my mind. It's still alert.
Thank God for my heart. It still can hurt.

My feet do ache. They've walked too long.
My knees are sore. They're not very strong.
My hair is graying. It's lost its sheen.
My skin is looser. I'd like to scream.

But I don't for my mind's still alert.
And I won't for my heart still can hurt.
