Fourth of July

Fireworks are bursting,
Lighting up the sky;
Lots of pretty colors
Celebrate Fourth of July.

Crowds of people watching,
Children covering their ears;
Most of them are smiling,
Some are showing tears.

The noise can be quite frightening
For it can be rather loud;
But the colors are delightful,
Appreciated by the crowd.

Celebrating independence
And showing national pride;
Our country’s precious freedom
Earned by countrymen who died.

Remember to be thankful
For the ones who serve us now;
They work to keep our safety
And we owe it to them to be proud.
