(1.0) A New Introduction (07/18/2008)

Welcome!

I want to thank poemhunter's readers for helping to lift my poetry in the PoemHunter popularity rankings to where I am currently #10 in the USA and #43 in the world! (as of July 22,2008)

That is certainly more than I expected or hoped for and every time that I've hit a new high over the last few weeks, I wondered if that was as high as it was going to get, but each time I had a new surprise as I moved up in the rankings!

Perhaps I've finally peaked - perhaps not! Whether or not I have, I have very little room left to advance, so I will say my thank you's now and I hope that my popularity here will carry over to the rest of my writings.

I hope that what you find here will whet your appetite for more!

Mostly, you're looking at excerpts from books of mine that have been published over the last few years. The titles respectively are:
Poison Pearls (2004) ,
Going Without Peggy (2005)
Brain Stemmed Roses (2006) .

Others are newer works, some of which are excerpted from my web sites at www.poeticat.com and www.scaredsafe.org.

I also recently acquired www.scaredsafe.com on the secondary market, so that it would not distract from my human rights & human trafficking site, www.scared safe.org. Temporarily I am not developing the site and I am using it as a direct link to my poems here at PoemHunter. Anybody who wishes to bring attention to my work here can use www.scaredsafe.com as the direct link and I appreciate anyone who wants to share my work with their friends!

Enjoy! ;)

P.S.

The numbering on the first 21 titles are there to circumvent this software's tendency to place everything in alphabetical order. This places them in chronological order as they were in Going Without Peggy and when they are read in that order, you will find that they form a true life story of Romance, Tragedy, Bereavement and Recovery. It is not the entire book by any means, however it will give you a taste of why this book was competing in two categories of that year's Pulitzer Prize competition - both as verse and as a biography!

As of this week I am changing that numbering to a decimal system to organize the presentation of my work on this web site and I am gradually updating my poems here. The integers 1,2 and 3 will be for the excerpts from my 3 books. The others will be worked out as I go...

Thanks again,

>^.Karl!
