I’d love to give you jewelry, from necklaces to rings
Bracelets, pins and pendants, sparkly kinds of things
I’d love to give you clothing from shirts and skirts and shoes
I’d love to take you shopping, so you can get whatever you choose
But your daddy told me not to, I pleaded with him hard
But he insisted he’d buy you those things, so I’m sending you this card.
