The Between

The obnoxious fumes fill my nose
Tightening like a constricting hose
Around my lungs
Like a serpents tongues
I struggle for air
Filled with despair

I sink into darkness,
So this is how it feels
The utter starkness
Of the world between worlds

Mist curls under my nose
Sprinkling my clothes
Those who cannot cross
Look lonely and lost
The Between is here
Exactly what i fear
Nothingness
Endless
But there's the ever so faint light
I'm filled with delight
But the Between fades

the Under is here
The air cuts like blades
Smelling of death and sorrow
and there is no telling if there's a tomorrow

I wonder through the building
The empty eyes unyielding
unbroken is the silence
For being in hell there isn't much violence

I am taken to the claiming
There was some explaining
On why i was here
But i was not complaining
Even though i fear
That i will not belong
Where my loved ones have gone
