I watch the day that goes by
Sitting by the riverside,
Contemplating on my lifeless life.
I am educated,
Yet jobless and homeless.
My family, all gone.
I live in a shelter,
Filled with emptiness.
No hope now,
And maybe none to come.
I once had dreams,
Dreams too much to tell.
Now, all dreams are gone,
Gone like Gorgie gone by the bullet.
What now?
I prayed, but God did not answer,
Not yet.
My only hope is God,
The almighty.
