ALIENS

ALIENS

The aliens have landed
Though all are quite small.
The largest among them
Is four feet tall.

Their craft has crashed
And it’s out of fuel.
They pray when discovered
We won’t be cruel.

Their skin is transparent
And they have eyes of red.
They look malnourished
And appear under fed.

They speak without words
But I feel what they say.
Hoping for assistance
To survive the coming day.

All have three legs
With more than one knee.
Half insect, half human
And they are scary to see.

They appear harmless and pose no threat
For when frightened they disappear.
Their heart controls some of what they do
And they are capable of a tear.

Our Lord has spoken of other worlds
Some distant and not so far.
Man has never been the only being
Who clings to a satellite of a star.
