Beth Caro Poems

I look in the mirror and what do I see?
I see a soul living on its knees,
Afraid to stand, afraid to live,
A soul that's been whipped and has no more to give,
...

We are standing in the battlefield of our broken family,
No one is mourning the dead
Each soldier had gripped their gun angrily
And watched as their kindred bled

Mirror

I look in the mirror and what do I see?
I see a soul living on its knees,
Afraid to stand, afraid to live,
A soul that's been whipped and has no more to give,
It has seen grief and many tough days,
And now it is trapped, stuck in a maze,
It waits for its white horse and shining prince,
It waits but there's nothing, only silence,
It doesn't feel the wind, it doesn't feel the heat,
It can hardly feel its own heart beat.
Now look in your mirror and look real hard,
Is your soul broke, is it scarred?
