The children lay asleep in bed, the presents on the floor
The tree decorated with its many twinkling lights
The snow that slowly falls outside like Angel dust at night

One star shining ever so bright
No crib for his bed, straw lay his head
Three wise men they saw the light

The rain is beating down on my hood
Look at them wipers go
I’d already be home if I could
But my baby she said go

I am waiting at the depot, where I was told to go
Greyhound don’t let me down
Across the street I see a steeple, outside many people
I’m as anxious as an old blue tick hound

Sheep one, he jumps right over
Sheep two, he slips on my shoe
Sheep three, seems to be as drunk as can be
Sheep four, he crashes through my bedroom door
...

Deep in the jungle you can hear a yell
Over in the jungle an air plane fell
All the apes came gathered around
To come see this thing that fell to the ground

Old age is wisdom
And the old songs we learned to sing
The steps in the mountains we carved with our own hands
The dreams

Dreaming of rainbows and their pots of gold
Wishing on wishing wells and too a star that fell
Charting the stars in the sky
Reading the palms of our lives

Daffodils cover hills
Clouds go passing by
Rainbows, pots of gold
As children close their eyes

Way up north
At the North Pole
Where it’s 0 degrees
And the cold wind blows
