Bipin Patsani Poems

Spoil not your moments of bliss,
Moments of peace and happiness,
trying to know and measure
who loves you how much,
...

Your silent acceptance,
Your tears tell everything,
That you could not say through the years.
...

Let us not be naive
to be carried away
by the rosy pictures
painted of love.
...

We salute you, Gurudev.
You are a vast universe.
Each time I visit Puri
and see your old house near the sea,
...

Brought to live in town
With her working daughter-in-law,
A mother awoke one morning
And found herself surrounded with
...

As the insatiate pen of an artist
Who wants to do wonders
But dissatisfied with the feeling
That something is missing,
...

A poem
Like a raft
Carries the poet
To unknown depths.
...

From earth to ether
Stretch your invisible strings
Like silver beams.
...

Each fault is a new discovery
In the search for truth,
And hence, a part of the creative process.
...

(For my grandfather Sri Chaitan Patsani)

'chhota mor gaan ti,
bhugol pothi patare pachhe
...

Missing the way in the woods
I was afraid with anticipations.
But now I myself am lost in its vastness,
Its ferocity and loveliness in which I redeem.
...

(For my grandfather Sri Chaitan Patsani)

Grandpa was fortunate to live the way he liked.
He had no fear, no compulsion;
...

As I see confronting armies
from among my people
seeking my support,
telling me what they stand for,
...

(a routine ritual)

Priests and Power
have ever been symbiotic partners
...

Those arrogant
don't feel ashamed of their errors.
They feel hurt rather
when fingers are pointed at them
...

(Paika Bidroh in Odisha (1817)

The brave, not scared of graves,
live beyond and awaken us
...

Monuments and shrines, no doubt,
are centres of tourist attractions,
pilgrimage and good business.
But these are not all.
...

THE TASTE OF FREEDOM

Not within the clumsy walls of ego
and inhibitions,
...

Watching the relics of the Sun Temple
At Konark and rediscovering the self
Is a wonderful experience.
It is, as it were, enjoying the lyric grace
...

The art of living, sharing, caring for all
And working together for a common goal
Is the greatest art mankind must learn,
If at all for its misdeeds it cares to mourn.

The Best Poem Of Bipin Patsani

To Be Or Not To Be Your Own Master

Spoil not your moments of bliss,
Moments of peace and happiness,
trying to know and measure
who loves you how much,
who allows how much space
for you in her heart, time to chat,
or seeks pleasure elsewhere.

Don't be another King Lear
and destroy your own sphere,
so sweet, sovereign and dear.

Don't spoil the happiness
and peace of others either.
Don't be an evil Chillingworth
of The Scarlet Letter,
your scholarly insight
reducing to devil's delight
to put your hurting finger
of itching awareness
on someone's hidden wound
or sweet sublime weakness,
amusing otherwise and near.

Your own thoughts and feelings
count most. How much you miss
and want somebody, that counts,
not how much you are wanted;
for in those precious pearls
thrive your endless undying love
which unfolds and emits its odour,
which adorns your life and verse,
your being and nothingness.

Your own mind is your Ganga,
Your own mind is your Gangotri.
So keep the source clean,
keep the course clean
with all its freshness and charm
and let its rippling surface welcome
in the golden rays of the rising Sun,
the bliss and blessings of the divine
which add meaning to life and living.

Sir, you have to keep writing irrespective of the response you get from your readers. See John Keats or Milton were not poets in Poem Hunter. Someone posted their poems here on their behalf. Today's poem will never be a poem if you don't post and share. Wish more of your poems surface sir. Regards. Subhas
