Angels & Death

</>Solemn faces all around,
The angels watch, with faces of stone.
The spirits of our ancestors gather,
As the coffin proceeds up the aisle.
Speeches are said and memories recalled,
Tears fall and bodies shake in sorrow,
I carry it into place.
So many came, yet not enough,
I had expected more.
What did she do to deserve such a thing?
No one can say, for they listened to the priest.
Then, I step up to the podium,
For it is my turn to tell a tale,
One for my dead grandma.
