If Ever....

If ever beauty
Could be described
In more than words,
In more than feelings and emotions,
In more than the eye could see;
Then it could only be you.

If ever love
Could be described
As more than a four letter word,
As more than a rush of hormones,
As more than nature’s way of ensuring sustenance,
As more than God’s gift to us;
Then it only could be in what I feel for you.

If ever happiness
Could be described
As more than a smile,
As more than a joke between friends,
As more than being at peace with all,
As more than laughter; whether genuine or otherwise;
Then it only be in what I feel when I see you.

If ever making love
Could be described
As more than the gratification of sexual needs,
As more than procreation,
As more than a physical act between two people,
As more than devoid of emotion;
Then it could only be in what we share.

If ever you and me
Could be described
As more than just friends,
As more than ordinary lovers,
As more than meant for each other;
Then it could only be the truth.
