Speak to me in color,
Kiss me with fire.

Lord I thank U for the hard times,
All the trials and tribulation, setbacks and strife.
For all the chaos amongst my friends and family,
The fights that have surrounded my life.
...

3.

Twenty-three years on the edge,

As I find that hate is death.
...

In slow steps,

And Soft whispers.
...

Into space I stare,
Listening to the voices in the air,
Pondering in my mental cage.
Spawning fear like the jaws of hell,
...

As I look upon a new day,

Lingering here for some type of change.
...

As my heart and my mind do battle,
Laying in wait as I reach for the answer to life.
The cancerous silence kills me slowly,
While the heartbreak quickens me twice.
...

I can feel the air shift,
The breeze has turned to a cold gust.
Life is begining to go into transition,
So what is left for us?
...

Fold my arms, turn my back,
And start to walk away.
Trying to flee,
From all my sick and lurid yesterdays.
...

Sweet dreams of caramel kisses,
Sounds of sensation in settle blues.
Bare bodies against one another,
As our souls become fused.
...

I saw a man distraught, alone,
And longing for the end.

If I had not turned away,
...

Still I love this black cloud,
This loud murder of steel,
To steal away in the gray,
Paying in kind to this dark unkind –
...

Bile, backstreets, and blisters,
Paper cuts, and pulled hair.
Caesar is dead, betrayal, and bloody tears,
Lust bits, strangle marks, and smeared lipstick.
...

Hell fire and high heels –
Blue pills and backseats,
Needle points with track meet hearts,
Death rattles, and blood baths, amongst the dead heat.
...

Give me something I can use,
Let the night be my weapon.
Black clad on an iron horse,
As the King has left them.

Caleb Crow Biography

“Poets are the unacknowledged legislators of the world”. Shelley’s: In the defense of poetry “Music is what flows from the soul when words fail, and one can not remain silent” Victor Hugo I constantly speak to people about music, I love music! For me music and poetry are wed in almost perpetual bliss. Hopfully in that last line I didn't seem too pretentious, but anyway music and poetry and their marrage. My playlist is as far reaching as Santana to Jay- Z, John Coltrane to Cage the Elephant, Mozart to Tupac, and my library of poetry is just as far reaching and eclectic. What I love about forms of verse is simple, lyrics, emotion, and intent. I want my poets, rappers, rock stars, blues singers and song writers to challenge me. To make me uncomfortable, make cry, make me angry, make me want make love, I want my poets and singer/song writers to make me feel all the colors and shades, all the rises and falls, all the nuances of this condition called life and with my poetry I hope to give a small piece of that to someone else. I come from the discipline of Hip Hop and even when I try to right in more of a classical style of poetry. Hip Hop along with my rock, blues, soul, and funk influences shine through. As a poetry fan my influences are as follows Frost, Poe, Phyllis Wheatly, Langston Hughes, Alice Walker, Emily Dickinson, spoken word greats like: Dalak Braithwaite, Lemon, Oscar Brown Jr., and the entire Ill- Literacy rap, social activist group, and poetry troop, and many more. I just want to try to enrich people’s lives the way these poets have enriched my life, and give hope and art in a time of such turbulent social/political change and upheaval. With all that said I hope you enjoy, and understand that when an artist shares his work he bears his souls, so thank you for getting to know me so intimatly.)

In Poetry

Speak to me in color,
Kiss me with fire.
Understand me with your heart,
Care for me with desire.

Love me in Poetry.....

Kill me with vigor,
Loath me with Ice.
Despise me with all of You,
This is the price.

Hate me in Poetry.....

Talk to me with your soul,
See me with open eyes.
Give me your mind,
Ask me who am I.

I am Poetry.....

Lay me down with fury,
Say my eulogy with power.
Give me this one sweet gift,
Let it never grow sour.

Bury me in Poetry.....

Think of me in thunder,
Please let this be my claim.
Dream of me in sparks and flashes,
For it is all the same.

REMEMBER ME IN POETRY! ! ! ! ! !
