We Remember Your Childhood Well

No one hit you. No one hurt you.
Maybe once or twice when you were really bad.
Stop exaggerating, you don't know what you're talking about!

No one abandoned you. No one left you.
Your father had re-married and started over.
You didn't miss him, you had us! A new father and your mother.

No one left you alone with strange men. They were our friends.
We knew and trusted people who knew them well, so it was fine.
Don't say ridiculous things, they never laid a finger on you!

No one neglected you. No one locked you in the house.
We were very busy, we had places to be.
Parents always left children home alone, everyone did it!

Stop this silly nonsense at once! You're scaring the children.
Why are you bringing this up now? It's been thirty years.
You were young, you don't remember. We were adults and we do.
We remember your childhood well.
