Biography of Carlton Lloyd Smith
Carlton was born in Detroit Michigan in 1973. He grew up in the surrounding suburbs, graduating from Ferndale High School in 1991. Aside from a six year stint in the Air Force he has lived in Southeast Michigan his entire life. Carlton is the organizer of the Southeast Michigan Poetry Meetup Group and is a member of American Mensa. He received a Bachelor of Science in Chinese Mandarin and Computer Information Systems from Excelsior University. He has two, wonderful children.

I once lived among them
Blinking bleary at the gaping open door as the
Light rushed in and reminded us it was

What nerve they had to remind us
