A Dinner For Two

A dinner for two with candles all aglow, your
favorite music on the stereo, a table spread
with lace so fine, a feast fit for a king to
dine, a single rose sits in the midst of this
grand array—as if it knows—this is a
special day. A prayer of thanks to God above for sending me
someone to love, a glass of wine—lifted in
anticipation—to toast a future filled with
great expectation, a beautiful evening, filled
with rapture and bliss, ends with a single kiss.
A goodbye is said, a door is closed, and a tear
is shed.
