Walking down a lonely street
The thoughts of the day swirl in my mind
Carrying a backpack full of books
On my way home.
...

Lost your way, lost senses of night and day
Laying roses on your grave, no aspect of life left to save.
Guns are firing over your head, you're nothing less than dead.
Flitting through day by day, life nothing more than decay.
...

She closed her eyes
and swept away,
she moved her legs to a steady rhythm
her pace slowly increasing
...

The rose and the briar;
such beauty so troubled.
Sharp thorns of deception,
the red rose of temptation...
...

Running,
Faster and faster.
Breath coming in gasps.
Still, I keep running.
...

6.

They patter on the windowsill
As I look outside my window
The rain drops slide down the pane.
I walk outside,
...

7.

Am I truly crazy?
What is crazy to you...
Is crazy ripping your hair out
Or screaming in an empty room?
...

Will you be my valentine?
My prize to show and brag?
Will you be the girl I can use,
to show my masculinity?
...

Despite nagging fears,
we still persist.
Among raging tears,
love still stands amidst.
...

In a society of perfection,
is there room for mistake?
Can you laze in the beginning,
then burn yourself at the stake?
...

Final tango, last twirl
Final lift with a swirl.
Moves drained from the song.
Lyrics fading to nothing.
...

What's so wrong with the world today?
What's wrong with what people do and say?
What's so wrong with people's choices?
Religion, sexuality, anything?
...

Silk pouring over a darkened sky
Flashes of color dance around, they fly.
Flags are twirling in the breeze.
Every twirl
...

Football players dashing cross field,
Cheerleaders doing back flips across the track.
Fans cheering, 'Get that ball back! '
But in the band, in the stands,

Flicker and burn, writhe and turn.
I see flames lick and lash at the red hot ground.
Red-hot heat sears all in it's path,
Embers and ashes lay all around.
...

I am afraid.
Afraid of losing you.
You're off to new and better things,
the lonely mockingbird outside my window sings,
...

And do not judge me,
for I am,
what two eyes see:
A lion's lamb.
...

Colors combine.
Colors contour.
Colors never die.
...

The horizon glows red,
As the sun sets upon the fields of wheat,
The moon shines it's light,
Upon the gorgeous ocean blue,
...

'I won't be home for the Holidays,
I am stuck here in the war.'
Mothers, Fathers, Sons, and Daughters.
Aunts, Uncles, Grandparents, Cousins.

Coming Home

Walking down a lonely street
The thoughts of the day swirl in my mind
Carrying a backpack full of books
On my way home.
I imagine, the smell
the taste,
the feel of home.
Always waiting for me when I come home.
Everyday, I wait to go home.
Just so I can be me.
I arrive at the front door.
A note on the door
Saying,
'Did you have a good day?
See you in an hour or so.'
I smile and carry my backpack inside.
That's why I always love coming home.
