What is courage, is it hard to say
That a man may give his life away
It could be friend or maybe foe
But impartial courage he will show.

In fruitful reds and floral gold the church is decked from wall to wall,
Sheaves of wheat adorn the aisle and grateful offerings mass the floor.
Pungent hops draped round the font once more, for harvest festival, revive the past, recalling days when we were children of a war.
...

There is an Inn in, the village square,
Known to us all, as the Dog and Bear,
The locals, over a tankard of ale
Will tell of many a village tale.
...

The tree that stood for many a day
That weathered the storms that made it sway
I’ve climbed your great trunk and looked far and wide
You majestic tree that none could hide
...

People say that memories are golden
And maybe that is true
But we never wanted those memories of you
We only wanted you
...

Never treat others with scorn
Your’e only here ‘cause you were born’
Although your’e way up
You may not stay up
...

Spring, when the entire world awakes anew.
Winter has passed and the sun peeps through,
...

I look over my shoulder
And what do I see
It is that my shadow
Is following me
I jump in the shade
...

Near the window burns a candle
Casting shadows on the floor
In a corner sits a lady
Shielding from a draughty door
...

Tell me moon is it true
That human beings have walked on you?
That men have walked upon your crust
And left their footprints in the dust
Why disturb you, they should leave you alone
There are lots of places down here unknown
...

It is only a country garden,
With flowers sweet and rare,
Where honey bees hum merrily
And butterflies are there.
...

12.

Of all the animals on earth.
I wonder really what your worth
We give you milk and fish to eat
And then you find somewhere to sleep
...

For old fox, I heard them say; they are going to kill you off today.
Those gentry in their hunting red are going to see you dead.
Hounds were a plenty and many a gun, you see old fox they must have their fun.
They will find you where ever your hiding, in wood or barn.

Courage.

What is courage, is it hard to say
That a man may give his life away
It could be friend or maybe foe
But impartial courage he will show.
The chronic sick bearing endless pain
Knowing they will never be well again.
The blindman searching for his sight
Not knowing the difference between day and night,
But never complaining or making a fuss
But doing his best to be one of us.
The boatman will challenge the mighty sea,
On a night of terror to set men free.
The fireman, fighting fire after fire,
His courage never seems to tire
But to him it’s a job to be done
For fighting fire is never fun.
The batsman facing a bumping ball
Will try and answer his captains call
And though he may be black and blue
The greatest courage he will show.
The Shepard tending his straying herd,
The spoken sermon, the promised word,
Telling the truth and not a lie.
Say, your not afraid to die, .
That’s courage.
