by the frosty smile he wears like glass for you

for lovers they oft speak
of stars and of moons

I saw the stars weep
in the desert tonight
and I heard the whipoorwill call
all alone in the world

The mirrors would melt with the fire in his eyes
his strong arms enfolded the love that he prized
she took her last breath as her heart flew away
with a kiss that embodied the break of the day
...

You said you were happy
that I had returned
to be honest I felt
I was glad that I did
...

I was born a wild child
a navigators son
from the slums I took my chances
and was always on the run
...

I saw the T.V sell me troubled times through tinted glasses
I saw the rockets fall and peoples worlds being blown to ashes
I saw the children cry and mothers weep when hope was lost
I heard the sirens wail as bankers added up the cost
...

I had a little Rubic Cube
I never really understood
I twiddled fumbled turned and cranked
its multi coloured bodyshank

Dear Mum,

Sitting here I wondered why I won't be home for Christmas
the lads and me in company C feel sorry for those who'll miss us
