Christopher Holden Poems

My son, my son.
Where have you gone?
I've looked all over,
But can't seem to find you.
...

How could you do this to me? You knew what it would make me do.
Leaving me like that. I practically worshiped you.
You said you'd never leave me. That you'd always be there for me.
I know I messed up. I know I made mistakes.
...

Slipping into the deep dark pits of my suppressed world.
I don’t want to go, but I can’t seem to stop the blood from gushing from my heart.
Like the ripples in a pond,
I am distracted from my day to day life.

My Son, My Son

My son, my son.
Where have you gone?
I've looked all over,
But can't seem to find you.
Your mother and I miss you,
So much you'll never know.
We keep a room for you,
Though you'll never see it.
I do everything now,
I need your help.
Every night your mother cries for you,
Her pillow soaked with tears.
I dreamed the other night,
That you did come back.
That you ended our pain.
But to try to make that dream real,
Will only cause more pain.
I am constantly reminded of the past.
Every day it hits me,
Like the winds of a tornado.
For now I just have to move on,
Waiting 'till I see you again.
