Christopher McKay Poems

Oh the sands co'er the land under-time waves at hand,
tick tock cried the clock-
twas once so loud.
But be thy heart under moon?
...

I've laid down the rose upon the grave-
of our love I could not save,
I shed a single tear for what I've lost
But I'll give happiness at any cost.
...

The wind stirs the leaves of the tree
Old branches cast their shadows on the ground.
Beneath the sunlight where they stand tall
To be known, to be found.
...

So many days have passed
And only so many are left.
We wait so very eagerly
To hear that sound of your first breath.
...

I want to be there to support and help
I want to be there when there is no one else.
I want to be the stone you lay your body on
Oh happiness was meant to be sung, but not an easy song.
...

The dawn breaks just below sunrise.
The sky is cracking in your eyes.
Below the belly of the moon,
The sun is rising to reach it's noon.
...

Load me into your chamber
I'm packed and ready for the fire.
I'll give you a hard enough hit-
To satisfy your lusting desire.
...

All my sufferings
Lay and mourn in remains.
Sick and trembling
Releasing virus into my veins.
...

See the sea
Of the sea of shores,
Before the sunset
Of befores.
...

I'll set my memories on fire
and burn down my past,
I'll watch the last of the perfect picture
fold at it turns into ash.

To That Certain One

Oh the sands co'er the land under-time waves at hand,
tick tock cried the clock-
twas once so loud.
But be thy heart under moon?
so time etched itself in too soon,
and I waste beneathe the silver cloud,
oh tick tock says the clock.
And thy press be printed neat
For shall I take a seat
and applaud at the act thy performed.
Oh may the audience roar.
For twas once a great show
but only if they all could know
that its but an act in store
and applaud at the act thy performed.
